Youth Solutions chief executive Geraldine Dean said the organisation’sKeep it in Checkcampaign — supported by the Campbelltown Catholic Club, TheAdvertiserand C91.3 — aims to encourage young people to be conscious of the decisions they make while celebrating.

‘‘If you are heading out to celebrate we ask you to please tell someone where you are going,’’ she said.

‘‘Take your phone, ID and keys, and leave money for food and transport home.

‘‘If you are drinking alcohol, know your limits and stick to them, keep your drinks with you and refuse drinks from people you don’t know.

‘‘And if you are planning a party, make your event invites only, provide food and non-alcoholic drinks for guests and have a responsible adult there to supervise.

‘‘Following these simple steps can be the difference between a great night and regrettable night.

‘‘The campaign is all about helping young people to enjoy their celebrations in the safest way possible.

‘‘We want young people to have a good and safe time and we do that by providing them with information, advice and simple strategies they can put in place to keep their night in check.

‘‘But the tips don’t just apply for young people, the whole community can benefit by following them.’’

Throughout December and January, as part of the campaign, the Campbelltown Catholic Club will offer free soft drinks to people who sign in a designated drivers at the club.
